Our Social Services Department serves as a vital resource center for all residents in our Public Housing programs throughout York County. Family Self-Sufficiency Program (FSS)

The Family Self-Sufficiency program is designed to empower families on their journey to economic independence by crafting a personalized family plan for the future. This voluntary initiative aims to support families in achieving financial self-sufficiency, enabling them to move beyond reliance on public assistance. Participants collaborate closely with a dedicated case manager to evaluate their strengths, identify obstacles, and set meaningful goals to achieve lasting success.

The Housing Authority of the City of York proudly offers a home ownership program designed for individuals currently residing in Section 8 voucher housing. This initiative empowers eligible families to purchase their own homes while providing financial assistance for mortgage payments for up to 15 years. Additionally, for our elderly and disabled residents, there are no time limits, ensuring everyone has the opportunity to achieve their dream of home ownership.
